When you put a caller on hold, a modern VoIP phone system will play absolute silence – no hiss, no crackle, nothing to suggest that the line is still open. Because of that, callers are tempted to hang up.
So, it makes a lot of sense to use Music on Hold, if only for the reassurance that you still want to talk to them.
But, you need to make sure that your Music on Hold is legal in terms of not violating the writer/performer’s copyright and ensuring that the appropriate royalties are paid
Revolution phones offers four options:
Silence (free of charge but absolutely not recommended)
Generic music where we have paid the royalties
Specific music – we help our customers to obtain the music they want and ensure that it is royalty-paid. This can usually be achieved by sourcing from a provider who charges just a single one-off payment in respect of royalties
Custom recorded media which can include music and/or voice-overs to take the opportunity of getting your message across to your customers while they are on hold
