Computer Telephone IntegrationNowadays there's more to using a telephone than just lifting a handset and taking calls. You would expect a modern telephone system to allow you to handle call transfers, conference calls, selective call forwarding, voicemail and a host of other features.
These features can be managed on even the most inexpensive phones by use of 'star codes' for example press *8 to pick up a call ringing on another phone.
More expensive phones (say £200 and upwards) will give you big display screens, menus and lots of buttons, which you can press and program to do all sorts of good things.
BUT, as you probably have a computer on your desk anyway - it's so much better to manage your phone from the desktop.
